Above the fold is a phrase tossed around that doesn't have much meaning anymore (since there are so many different device widths / heights). There are ways however to keep things above the “fold” by using CSS properties such as VH (Viewport height) or percentages. In my latest designs, I like to use aprox. 90% of the viewport height, so users can see JUUSSSSTTT a little bit of the next section; enough to entice them to delve further down the page. This design features modern font, material design colours, and a mobile menu on desktop (a rising trend in modern design)
In an effort to both showcase and improve my UI design skills, I signed up for a 100 day UI challenge. Although my schedule may not permit a daily challenge, I will be posting new challenges to my website, to my Twitter, and to my Dribbble. You can design along with me by signing up at: http://dailyui.co/.
I would love to hear from you!
